WATER-RESISTANT, NOT WATERPROOF
Most traditional Western boots, including ours at Myra, are made from full-grain leather, durable, breathable, and built to last. But untreated leather absorbs water. It's a living material, and like all good things, it needs care.
That doesn't mean your boots aren't ready for the elements. It just means they need the same attention you'd give a good saddle. Cowboys once relied on saddle soap and grease. Today, we've got waterproofing sprays, beeswax, and modern conditioners that do the job just as well.
If you're heading into heavy rain or snow, consider waterproof overshoes or boot liners. Some newer styles are fully waterproof with sealed seams and rubber outsoles, though they sometimes trade tradition for tech.
